Turbo Blanket to suit GT25-28/VF WRX with Internal Wastegate
This model is for an internal wastegate turbo of a small to medium size, eg GT25-28.
The Picture is an example of an External Gate Blanket. The Internal blanket has a cut-out for the actuator rod clearance.
We also have an internal version for the Subaru VF series Turbo, although this unit is supplied without a logo as the actuator position does not allow.
These Blankets are a great innovation to the turbo scene! They are made up of heat resistant polyurethane/silicon coated fibreglass cloth, with an inner of 25mm Heat Absorbing Ceramic material, and a stainless wire mesh to retain the "wool". The Ceramic Wool is space age technology material with tolerences in excess of 1000 degrees C before mechanical breakdown of the material.
The Blanket is designed to retain the heat in the turbo, reducing the loss of energy/heat from the turbo. This intern gives the turbo earlier spooling and greater horsepower potential. Back to Back Dyno Testing verifies a performance increase from fitting the blanket. Not to mention the cosmetic benifits of reduced temeratures within the engine bay! No more burn't paintwork and cooked wiring looms etc.
Retaining springs/wire is not included, as there are variations in required length based on application. These Blankets are relatively generic in fit, to cater for a range of models.
As these Blankets are designed to retain heat within the turbo, it may be benificial that the blanket be removed for vehicle "Garaging" as retaining the heat without the water/oil circulation may cause long term reduced life for the turbo (this is particularly relevant when used with non-water cooled plain bearing units). Although there is no documented analysis to support this theory... (we don't beleive this to be the case based on our testing and analysis)

This model is for an external wastegate turbo of a small to medium size, eg GT30-35/40., and is supplied with the "turbo by Garrett" logo unless otherwise specified. We can supply this blanket with no logo if required.

Ceramic Coating for the turbine housing
Get your turbo's exhaust housing ceramic coated. This coating decreases engine bay temperatures by up to 30%, keeping the heat in the turbo. The coating has been documented as making horsepower, as exhaust heat loss is minimised, therefore creating more power.
